Noela Fidow
Family Law has always been of great interest to me. Growing up in an extended family (aiga) setting in Samoa, ensuring that children’s voices are heard and making a positive impact on the community is the reason I pursued such a career.
This passion was developed through my studies at Auckland University, graduating in Law (LLB) and with a Bachelor Arts (BA), majoring in Maori (language, culture, and history), Child Psychology and Political studies.
Following tertiary studies, I spent 2 years employed as the lawyer for the Ministry for Children, Oranga Tamariki in the Whangarei office. I then worked approximately 8 years employed with Wills Westenra Lawyers Ltd, dealing primarily with Family Court proceedings in respect to Domestic Violence, the Care of Children, Adoption, Human Assisted Reproductive Technology, Protection of Personal Property matters, Mental Health, and proceedings involving Oranga Tamariki.
In September 2016, I became a Sole Practitioner, – continuing to work upon my passion as a family court lawyer in the above areas of law as well as taking on instructions with respect to Relationship Property matters and Wills. I receive appointments as Lawyer for Child from the Family Court and am an accredited mediator.
I am listed as a legal aid provider.
Providing a professional, warm, and friendly client focused service is what I value. I am particularly passionate about the work related to lawyer for child appointments, ensuring that the best outcome is made for the child.
